Large Mixed Use Development in Newbury

16/04/2008 01:13:14

Renaissance is to submit a planning application to carry out a major mixed use development in Newbury, West Berkshire.   The proposed development will include a 100 room hotel together with 70,000 square feet of modern Grade A office accommodation, residential housing, restaurants and community retail outlets.

It is envisaged that the finished development will be valued in excess of £60m. The development site comprises over 3 acres and will regenerate a large part of an under used and derelict area which lies between the A339 trunk road and Faraday Road.

Leading local architects Sutton Griffin have been retained to design the scheme and Dreweatt Neate is acting as Town Planning Consultant.  The emphasis will be to create a modern sustainable design that will give prominence to an important gateway to Newbury.
